Tie::Util, version 0.03 (beta) This module provides a few subroutines for examining and modifying tied variables, including those that hold weak references to the objects to which they are tied, and variables tied to packages as opposed to objects. RECENT CHANGES 0.03 ---- Bug fix: Suppress ‘Ambiguous use’ warnings introduced in perl 5.13.3. 0.02 ---- Incompatible change: • is_weak_tie now returns false for a variable tied to undef, because the tie does not actually hold a weak reference; it holds no refe- rence at all. New features: • Added support for tying to a package (or anything else) • Added a ‘tied’ function that returns the actual scalar the tie uses. Bug fixes: • Tying $@ no longer makes is_tied die. • weak_tie now returns the same scalar that holds the tie, the way ‘tie’ does. INSTALLATION The easiest way to install this module is to use the CPAN module or the cpan script: [sudo] perl -MCPAN -e "install Tie::Util" [sudo] cpan Tie::Util Or you can use the following: perl Makefile.PL make make test [sudo] make install DEPENDENCIES This module requires perl 5.8.0 or later and the following Perl modules: • Exporter 5.57 or later • Scalar::Util 1.09 or later DOCUMENTATION After installing, you can find documentation for these modules with the perldoc command. perldoc Tie::Util Or try using man (it's faster, in my experience): man Tie::Util COPYRIGHT AND LICENCE Copyright (C) 2007-10 Father Chrysostomos This program is free software; you may redistribute it and/or modify it under the same terms as perl.
